Winthrop Professor Marc Tennant AM

Winthrop Professor Marc Tennant AM has been a transformative force in health reform and higher education since the early 1990s. Marc is the Founder of the International Research Collaborative Health and Equity and a member of the Academic staff at The University of Western Australia for decades. He is celebrated as a founding father of the sub-discipline of rural, remote, and Indigenous oral health. He has been instrumental in the transformation of modern dental education in Australia and across the world. In 2022, he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia by the Governor General of Australia for his outstanding contributions to society. Marc's global influence extends to leadership roles, research excellence, and impactful mentoring.

Currently, as the 49th* Chair of Academic Board and Senate member at The University of Western Australia, he continues to shape higher education in Australia, leaving an indelible mark on the nation.
